According to data submitted to the Federal Election Commission, the Harris campaign spent approximately $270 million during the month, with the majority of this amount directed towards election advertisements. In contrast, Trump’s campaign expenditures totaled around $78 million during the same period, according to a report by Reuters.

Despite the disparity in spending between the two campaigns, both invested millions of dollars in just one month, as the competition intensifies and the race for the upcoming presidential election remains tight, reflecting a deeply polarized American political landscape.

It is important to note that

these figures only reflect the official spending of direct campaign funds and do not include amounts spent by unofficial supporting groups. For instance, billionaire Elon Musk provided substantial backing for Trump’s campaign, allocating millions of dollars to boost his chances in the presidential race.

Separate data also revealed that the “Make America Great Again” political action committee, one of Trump’s prominent support groups, received a $25 million donation from billionaire Timothy Mellon in September. This sum is part of Mellon’s total contributions of $115 million since the beginning of the year to support the former president.

Both campaigns’ spending focused primarily on advertising, particularly television and radio ads in Harris’s case. However, despite this massive expenditure, victory in the election is not guaranteed, as seen in the 2016 election when Trump defeated Hillary Clinton, despite her campaign raising more money than his.
