but Kylian Mbappe responded with a late brace.
Messi regained Argentina’s advantage in extra time,
but Mbappe responded once more for France,
completing his hat-trick and forcing a penalty shootout.

 

Argentina won the shootout 4-2 to win the World Cup and one of the sport’s all-time classic games.

It was truly a magical moment as all players ran towards him celebrating wildly
with joyous tears streaming down their faces, they had done it; they won World Cup 2022!!
